This set reproduces the 1970s revision of the Dubrovnik chess design, which followed the original 1950s pattern with a reshaped knight and a wider rook for better play. The design was rebuilt from photographs of several antique originals, and every piece has a chunky, broad base that gives it a solid feel in the hand. It suits club players who want a classic tournament profile and collectors of historical chess designs.

Handcrafted by skilled artisans, the dark pieces are turned in bud rosewood and the light pieces in boxwood.

Care

Dust the pieces with a soft, dry cloth and keep them away from direct sunlight and humidity, which can fade or crack natural wood.
